From Kindergarten through Grade 12 and into vocational careers — Rain Edge schools and training centre give every learner a quality education in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Primary School

Where Curiosity Becomes a Lifelong Habit

Living Fountain Academy was established in 2010 with a single conviction — that quality education should not be a privilege. Today we serve 380+ learners from Kindergarten through Grade 9 in a vibrant, nurturing, and academically rigorous environment.

We follow the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and enrich it with science clubs, digital literacy, arts, and a robust reading programme. Our school feeding programme ensures no child learns on an empty stomach.

What We Teach & How We Teach It

Our CBC curriculum goes beyond the textbook — building thinkers, readers, and problem-solvers from day one.

A structured phonics-based reading programme from KG, building to comprehension, creative writing, and debating skills by Grade 9. English is the primary language; Kiswahili runs throughout all levels.
English Language
Mathematics & Logic
Maths instruction under CBC emphasises conceptual understanding alongside procedural fluency. Real-world problems and weekly mental maths challenges build strong number sense from an early age.
Number & Operations
Science & Technology
Hands-on integrated science from Grade 1. A dedicated lab from Grade 4. Digital literacy and basic coding introduced in Grade 6. Annual science fair held each March.
Integrated Science
Arts, Sports & Values
Every learner has weekly art, music, and PE. We run an annual drama production, a school choir, and inter-house sports. Values and social cohesion are woven into all learning areas.

Skills That Open Doors for Every Learner

Rain Edge Inclusive Skills Centre was established in 2022 to provide vocational training that is genuinely accessible to all — with a particular commitment to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). We follow the CBET (Competency-Based Education and Training) framework regulated by TVETA and certified by TVET CDACC.

Our centre is built for inclusivity: sign language instructors, Braille resources, tactile pathways, wheelchair-accessible workshops, and adaptive tools are available across all programmes. Every learner deserves the chance to gain a marketable skill.

Accessibility

An Accessible Campus — By Design, Not Afterthought

Every aspect of our skills centre was designed with inclusivity as the starting point — not a retrofit. Here is what that means in practice.

Ramps & Wide Doorways
All buildings have gradient-compliant wheelchair ramps and 900mm-wide doorways. No steps between learning areas.
Tactile Pathways
Raised tactile guide strips run from the entrance to every classroom and workshop, allowing independent navigation for VI learners.
Hearing Induction Loops
Hearing induction loop systems installed in all classrooms — compatible with hearing aids set to T-mode.
Braille Resource Room
A dedicated Braille library with embossed learning materials for all six programmes, updated each intake cycle.
Adapted ICT Lab
All 20 workstations have screen reader software (NVDA), large-key keyboards, and height-adjustable desks for seated or wheelchair-using learners.
Adapted Workshop Tools
Single-hand garden tools, clamps for securing materials, electric sewing machines with knee-lift lever, and adapted woodwork benches.
Accessible Ablution Blocks
Fully accessible toilets with support rails, adequate turning space, and low sinks — provided in every ablution block on campus.
Visual & Vibrating Alarms
Fire and emergency alarms include strobe lights and vibrating pillow alerts in the hostel — ensuring HI learners are always alerted.
SNE-Trained Instructors
All instructors hold or are pursuing a Special Needs Education (SNE) qualification through KISE. Additional SNE support staff are on duty daily.
Learning Coaches & Peer Support
Each cohort has a designated learning coach for one-on-one support, plus a peer buddy programme pairing experienced and new learners.
Learner Life

More Than a Certificate

We develop the whole person — not just vocational skills. Entrepreneurship, confidence, and community are part of every learner's journey.

Enterprise Attachment

Every learner completes a practical enterprise attachment in one of our social enterprises — bakery, water plant, or farm — gaining real work experience and income skills.

  • Bakery production attachment
  • Water packaging line training
  • Farm agribusiness module

Self-Advocacy & Leadership

Weekly self-advocacy sessions build confidence, communication, and self-representation skills — especially important for learners with disabilities entering the job market.

  • Disability rights awareness
  • CV writing & interview skills
  • Peer leadership council

Community & Outreach

Learners complete a community service module and participate in outreach events — building social cohesion and demonstrating that persons with disabilities are active contributors to society.

  • Community service project
  • Annual KSL awareness day
  • Open Day showcase of work
